My sister told me about this and I finally found it! Mulan cross-dressed during the war for twelve years and no one ever found out until she got home and changed into girl’s clothes (Disney changed this). She did this for her country, her old father and mother, her older sister, her younger brother (and probably a lot of other unnamed relatives because Chinese people have huge families). HER STORY LIVES ONWARDS.
